Many of the car companies are taking radical steps to improve their quality. Suzuki Kizashi is the result of the efforts with tough segment in the market. It is competing against Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Ford Fusion and Kia Optima; the cars that are liked by everyone.
IMITATION IS THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY
Some people describes its uniqueness with the phrase “Suzuki Kizashi looks like no other car on the road” such as a Porsche 911 or BMW X6.
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, than Volkswagen, BMW, Infiniti, Hyundai and Lexus should be flattered. The tail light treatment is Infiniti all the way, the nose is pure VW, it looks like a shrunken Genesis Sedan from the side profile like the Lexus LS460 and even it has a BMW Bangle Butt. In spite of praising just about every luxury carmaker, the whole package of the car comes together as surprisingly stylish and logical.
KIZASHI FEELS QUICKER THAN ITS 185-HP WOULD SUGGEST
In road test Kizashi SE AWD recorded over 500 miles. 185-hp is made with the 2.4-liter inline-4 in the manual form of 6-speed, and the CVT, an option in the car, stick up the engine of 5 horsepower.
About in 8.5 seconds the sprint comes to 60, but the automobile feels quicker than the explained speed, particularly at around-town speeds. One who drives it surely comments that this is really smooth.” Even you would not hear the engine at all and the CVT performs an unbelievable job by keeping the engine in the required powerband. The car has a fine AWD system and works to facilitate throttle-steer through speedy corners.
The Kizashi is a car that you would enjoy to drive, particularly with this level of practicality, at this price point. The chassis is as stiff as you would ever desired it, the suspension maintains the car placed through corners and manages to take in most bumps, the steering is also direct, even though it gets a little bit heavy at a low speed.
The look of the car is nice in all the directions, though it is felt that the head too low and shoulders are too high; relatively thin A-pillars and the short overhangs make it easy to maneuver in tight spaces.
HUGE STRIDE FORWARD IN INTERIOR QUALITY
Great steps are taken to improve the interior quality of the Suzuki. A high quality cloth is applied to the seats and the seats provide overall comfort. A special attention is given to the driver touch points, with the parking brake, shifter, steering wheel, and door pulls that are wrapped in tight-stitched leather.
Rear seat room is perfect and sufficient for this size of the car and provides a seat for four adults that may spend their few hours in the car. The tester of the car himself spent few hours in the back seat and had no complain. The overhangs in the rear are short, but the trunk is quite large.
The Kizashi comes with a number of good features in the price range. The features like All-Wheel-Drive, Bluetooth connectivity, iPod interface, dual-zone climate control and Keyless Go make the car more appealing. Although some of its features like Bluetooth and iPod are a little difficult to use, due to the rudimentary LCD display.
The Suzuki projects a best of a low of 20/29-mpg for the GTS model with the stick-shift and 23/31-mpg (city/highway) for a front-drive model with the CVT with different variations between trim level and transmission choice.
