Thanks to CNG that we no longer have to get petrol. I have been cheated many times by filling boys on petrol pumps. Here are some of their common tactics to fool the customers:

1) The cool guy who doesnt look at the meter

This cool guy is the easiest one to cheat, they just start the meter from whereever the last reading was before and show him the end reading, the cool guy doesnt even bother to look, and hands them the money.

2) Confused ladies

If you have three kids in the car, are already nervous of driving in the city, you would not dare look at the meter. Yes ladies, you are the number one victim of cheating at petrol pumps.

3) The smart guys

Yes, you are also vulnerable to this cheating. You are already bitten by them once, you are determined to not let this happen the next time. You come out of your car and check the zero meter by yourself, the filling boy starts the filling after your approval, another of his accomplice comes and hands you a free gift, you take your eyes off the meter and yes, the other boy is too sharp to forward the meter some how ( I do not really know how they it, but I once caught one guy doing that, therefore I know)

So guy and gals, be extra cautious when you stop by a petrol pump for a top up!
