Surprisingly Mercedes took 24 families all the way to to show them just how versatile the largest car in its range is. It is a test drive with a stylish though, because this is the Mercedes Viano Family Challenge. A kind of Iron Man for families, it is in its fifth year and is the chance for groups to test the Viano while competing in a range of sporting activities.

 The competitors were chosen at random after applying to take part through website and various other media partners. The three-day event was held in southern , with the emphasis on "team spirit and having fun". Families from across Europe took part; with four family members in each team, a throng of journalists covering the 'Challenge' and an army of support staff, this was an event on an epic scale.
